Every edition, White Magazine works with a team of local wedding industry experts to showcase one beautiful gown worn two ways. The inspiration for this month’s shoot was Malibu Beach and Country Charm – two very different themes that evoked completely different floral styles for me! Today, I’d like to share with you the inspiration behind the two looks I created in conjunction with The Bride’s Market, Jennifer Gifford Designs, Lara and Susie Photography and Restaurant Two.
Look 1: Malibu Beach
My first step in bringing together the florals for the Malibu inspired look was to be inspired by the gorgeous gown. The dress was beautifully simple, with stunning lace accents, which I knew would be perfectly offset by some big, bold floral touches. Malibu, to me, says BRIGHT, so the obvious choice was tropical flowers and gorgeous Phalaenopsis Orchids. Add a touch of greenery, in palm leaf inspired shapes, and we were transported straight to a Malibu wedding!
Look 2: Country Charm
What better way to say ‘country’ than with some stunning and sustainable Australian natives. Blushing Bride (how appropriate!) was the feature flower, accented with some pretty ferns spray painted rose gold, to give that luxe look. In order to add some dimension to the bouquet, I added a little Trailing Jasmine – the cascading look is so on trend! I added a spray of natives to the model’s hair, to tie the whole look together.
The best part about being a part of the One Dress, Two Ways shoots is getting to show brides just how different their gown can look by changing up their wedding florals!
